1 min read

Shiv Sena leaders Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut staged a strong protest by sitting inside the D.N. Nagar police station in Andheri, Mumbai. The leaders took this step after police detained activist Tushar Gandhi. Gandhi was stopped and detained while heading toward August Kranti Maidan to participate in a demonstration against corrupt Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Overall, around 600 protesters were detained across Mumbai by law enforcement authorities during these demonstrations. The high-profile sit-in by senior opposition leaders caused significant political tension in the city, drawing massive attention to police action against the demonstrators. Authorities maintained a heavy security presence around the police station and key locations in the city to manage the escalating situation and prevent further unrest among the gathered party workers and supporters.

Tushar Gandhi, who was on his way to join the protest against corrupt Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at August Kranti Maidan, was detained by the police. In protest, Shiv Sena leader, Yuva Sena chief, and MLA Aditya Thackeray, and Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut, staged a sit-in at the D.N. Nagar police station in Andheri.
