Amit Shah Announces UCC in 21 NDA States Before 2029 | Opposition Calls It Attack on Muslims

1 min read

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a major political announcement regarding the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code across the country. According to reports, the senior leader stated that the proposed civil code will be enacted in all twenty-one states currently governed by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance well before the upcoming two thousand twenty-nine Lok Sabha elections. This strategic policy decision aims to bring uniform personal laws for all citizens regardless of religion. However, the announcement has immediately triggered sharp reactions from opposition parties. Several political opponents and minority leaders have strongly criticized the move, terming it a direct attack on Muslims and their religious practices. The debate over the implementation of this controversial legislation is expected to intensify significantly as NDA-ruled states begin preparing for its rollout in the coming months.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented in all 21 BJP-NDA ruled states before the 2029 Lok Sabha polls. He also highlighted India’s changed strategy against terrorist attacks. Congress leaders strongly opposed the move. Imran Masood said 25 crore Muslims cannot be removed, while Rashid Alvi called it an attempt against Muslims and a decision to destroy the country.
