Tensions escalated in the national capital as heavy police deployment was witnessed outside the residence of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. The demonstration was organized by CJP against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, which received open backing from the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP leaders strongly condemned the police action, terming the heavy deployment and restrictions as an undeclared emergency imposed by authorities. Meanwhile, the crackdown extended beyond political figures as police detained several prominent digital commentators and activists, including Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Saurav Das. Additionally, popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was reportedly taken into custody directly from his home, drawing widespread attention and raising significant concerns regarding freedom of expression and political dissent amidst the ongoing demonstrations.
