On October 10, Delhi Police detained West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal during a high-voltage protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital. The demonstration was organized under the banner of the CJP to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Several other political activists and leaders were also taken into custody as tensions escalated sharply in central Delhi.
