On October 10, Delhi Police detained prominent opposition leaders including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal during a high-profile demonstration in the national capital. The protest, spearheaded by the CJP, was organized to demand the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Demonstrators raised serious concerns regarding alleged irregularities found in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Heavy security deployments were made across central Delhi, effectively restricting public and political access to Jantar Mantar. Several other political activists and opposition figures were also taken into custody as tensions escalated throughout the city during the unauthorized gathering.

Mamata Banerjee and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal were detained by Delhi Police on October 10 amid the CJP-led protest demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
