According to official reports, Election Commissioners have unanimously approved the implementation of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) orders concerning the Form 6 declaration. The commission stated that the primary structure of Form 6, which is used for new voter registrations, remains fundamentally unchanged. However, an additional Annexure D declaration has now been made mandatory under the new SIR guidelines. This administrative update aims to streamline the verification process and ensure greater accuracy in electoral rolls across the country. Authorities have emphasized that these measures are designed to maintain transparency and uphold the integrity of the democratic process during upcoming electoral activities. Citizens and officials are advised to adhere strictly to the revised submission norms.
The Election Commission said Form 6 remains unchanged, with an additional Annexure D declaration required under SIR orders. The clarification came amid a reported disagreement over incorporating the declaration into the online Form 6.
