Gyanesh Kumar Row: Owaisi’s 2023 Parliament Stand Raises Questions Over Opposition’s Current Attack

A major political controversy has emerged regarding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, following a recent investigative report by The Indian Express. The report highlighted details concerning Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Kumar. Amidst heavy criticism from various opposition parties targeting the poll panel, attention has shifted toward AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Observers have pointed out that Owaisi's stance during a 2023 parliamentary debate regarding the appointment process of election commissioners appears to contradict the opposition's current aggressive attacks. While opposition leaders are now questioning the transparency and independence of the poll body, political analysts are revisiting past parliamentary records to examine how key leaders previously debated the legislation governing these crucial constitutional appointments, bringing a new dimension to the ongoing debate.
