As India approached the historic midnight hour on August 14, 1947, the nation's capital witnessed unprecedented excitement and momentous activity. Inside Delhi’s Central Hall, previously known as Constitution Hall and currently housed within the old Parliament complex, leaders gathered to mark the end of colonial rule and the dawn of a free nation. This iconic venue became the epicenter of intense political deliberations and celebrations as the Constituent Assembly met to formally assume power on behalf of independent India. Meanwhile, massive crowds of enthusiastic citizens gathered outside near the historic Red Fort, eagerly awaiting the momentous transition. People from all walks of life flooded the streets to celebrate freedom, defying the late hour to witness the birth of a sovereign republic. This unforgettable night captured the collective joy, sacrifice, and patriotic fervor of millions who fought for India's independence.

That night of 14 August 1947.... After two hundred years of the bloody and knee-bending darkness of British rule, as the hands of the clock moved closer to 12, the atmosphere inside and outside the Constitution Hall was no less than the climax of a thriller film.
