Entry of Cockroaches at Jantar Mantar Halted | Capital TV
Delhi Police have officially denied permission to the Cockroach Janta Party and various student organizations for a planned protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The demonstration was scheduled for October 10 to demand accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Joint Commissioner of Police Nupur Prasad stated that the organizers submitted their application on October 7, falling short of the mandatory ten-day advance notice requirement. Additionally, authorities cited the non-compliance of previous undertakings given by the groups and the ongoing enforcement of Section 163 of the BNSS, which prohibits unauthorized assemblies across the New Delhi district. Police officials have formally warned that strict legal action will be initiated against any individuals or groups attempting to defy these prohibitory orders and gather at the venue.
