Maharashtra Political & Social Controversies| Raj Thackeray, Disha Salian & IIT Bombay
A social media influencer in Maharashtra recently found himself in severe trouble after posting a controversial reel mocking Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. The video quickly went viral across various social media platforms, drawing intense backlash from party supporters. Following the incident, MNS workers tracked down the individual and administered a harsh public punishment. In the viral footage of the aftermath, the influencer is seen being forced to perform sit-ups while balancing a slipper on his head as a form of apology and humiliation. This incident has reignited ongoing debates regarding political intolerance, freedom of expression on digital platforms, and the increasing instances of vigilante justice by political cadres in the state. Local authorities are currently reviewing the viral videos to determine if any formal legal complaints or police actions will be initiated against those involved in the physical coercion.
