The Ministry of External Affairs officially briefed media persons regarding the successful outcome, emphasizing that India's strategic vision played a crucial role in shaping the final agreement. This consensus reflects the collective commitment of BRICS nations to address key international issues collaboratively, strengthening multilateral cooperation and mutual trust among emerging economies on the world stage.
India’s MEA briefs on New Delhi Declaration after BRICS members reached consensus following intense negotiations. India assumed the BRICS Chairship in January this year for the fourth time, as the grouping marks the 20th anniversary of its institutionalised cooperation. The MEA says there is no focus on a BRICS currency at the moment, while the declaration can only reflect the common denominator among members. During India’s chairship, every BRICS member has been given an opportunity to bring ideas to the table.
