Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government during a massive political rally in Jalandhar. The event marked the official culmination of the Bharatiya Janata Party's high-profile Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra, a statewide campaign aimed at combating the alarming rise of substance abuse in the region. Addressing the gathering, Shah criticized the state administration for failing to curb the drug menace, locally known as 'chitta', which continues to devastate families and youth across Punjab. He emphasized the urgent need for decisive action and concerted efforts to eradicate the narcotics trade. The rally drew thousands of supporters and local leaders, serving as a major platform for the opposition to corner the state government on law and order and public health issues related to drug addiction.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the concluding rally of the BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra in Jalandhar, targeting the AAP government over Punjab’s drug menace. Shah alleged that AAP had allowed “chitta” to flow freely in Punjab. The BJP’s 13-day campaign travelled nearly 4,000 km across all 117 Assembly constituencies before culminating in Jalandhar.
