Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has triggered a major political controversy following his sharp verbal attack amidst the ongoing debate over the Special Intensive Revision and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Raut reportedly used harsh and aggressive language during his public statements, drawing intense criticism from political opponents. While the opposition and critics condemned his choice of words, members of the Congress party came out in his defense, arguing that his remarks were intended to highlight critical issues concerning constitutional bodies and the electoral process. This defense by Congress has further escalated tensions between the ruling alliance and the opposition parties, leading to a heated political debate across the country regarding political decorum and the freedom of expression for elected representatives.

Amid the controversy surrounding the SIR and Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, Shiv Sena UBT Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing attack. Speaking to the media in Mumbai on Friday (September 25), he claimed that a new government will be formed in 2029. Those who have betrayed the country will face trial and go to jail. The public will catch them on the streets. He further said, "The people will beat the traitors of the country with shoes. This slogan was given by BJP's Anurag Thakur in Delhi - 'beat the traitors with shoes'. I will go and throw the first shoe in Delhi. We have never been afraid of traitors and neither will we be afraid in future."
