Seema Pahuja, CBI Officer Who Led RG Kar Probe, Now Spearheads Disha Salian Death Investigation
Senior Central Bureau of Investigation officer Seema Pahuja has been assigned to lead the ongoing probe into the death of Disha Salian. Officer Pahuja recently gained significant attention for heading the high-profile investigation into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case. Disha Salian, the former celebrity manager, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mumbai a few days before the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020. The decision to place an experienced investigator like Pahuja at the helm marks a fresh development in the high-profile case. Authorities aim to leverage her investigative expertise to examine unexplored angles and bring closure to the matter. The Central Bureau of Investigation continues to review evidence and question related individuals as part of the revived probe into the tragic incident that garnered nationwide media attention.
CBI officer Seema Pahuja has been assigned to supervise the investigation into the Disha Salian case. Pahuja, currently serving as Superintendent of Police with the Special Crimes-II unit at the CBI headquarters in New Delhi, has handled several high-profile and sensitive investigations. Her previous assignments include the RG Kar case in Kolkata, the 2020 Hathras case, the Unnao rape case involving former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, and the Kotkhai ‘Gudiya’ rape and murder case in Himachal Pradesh. The CBI team is expected to examine the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death and record statements from people who were present at a gathering held shortly before the incident. The investigation is being conducted under the direction of the Bombay High Court.
