Vande Mataram Row Escalates: Congress Sticks to 2 Stanzas, CM Yogi Hits Back Hard | Dr. Manish Kumar

1 min read

The political controversy surrounding the national song Vande Mataram has intensified significantly following a key meeting of the Congress Working Committee. During the session, the party leadership decided to strictly adhere to singing only the first two stanzas of the historical composition during official events. This decision drew a sharp and aggressive reaction from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who strongly criticized the opposition stance. The debate has sparked a major political slugfest across the country, with various leaders locking horns over patriotism, nationalism, and historical traditions. The ongoing dispute continues to dominate political discussions as both sides refuse to back down from their respective stands, raising tensions further ahead of upcoming political events and state assembly sessions.

Amid the ongoing political controversy over Vande Mataram, a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) was held. In the meeting, a resolution was passed regarding the singing of two stanzas of Vande Mataram. Apart from this, several issues such as students’ problems, Ram Mandir donation theft, and Chinese infiltration were also discussed. Earlier, the central government had brought a law regarding Vande Mataram during the monsoon session, making it mandatory to sing six stanzas. If this is not done, legal action will be taken. CM Yogi Adityanath has also held up a mirror to the Congress… He has accused the Congress of promoting appeasement and an anti-national mentality.
