The Delhi Police has officially denied permission to the Cockroach Janta Party and various student organizations to stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on October 10. According to Joint Commissioner of Police Nupur Prasad, the organizers submitted their application on October 7, failing to meet the mandatory requirement of ten days' advance notice. Authorities also cited the non-compliance of prior undertakings by the groups and the ongoing imposition of Section 163 of the BNSS, which prohibits unauthorized public gatherings across New Delhi. The planned protest was organized to demand accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Police officials have strongly warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to defy these prohibitory orders and gather at the site.
